Herbert Wayne Grissom passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at his home in Fletcher, Oklahoma.

A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.

Herbert Wayne Grissom, 83, of Fletcher, Oklahoma was born March 16, 1940 in Rock Hill/Russellville, Alabama to Charlie Alvie and Vostar (Marlar) Grissom. Herb lived on the family farm until moving to Lawton, Oklahoma. He married Nancy Taylor in 1962 and they were blessed with four children, the two surviving children are Terry W. Grissom and Michelle Grissom Easton. Two of the children, John Allen and Cynthia Kay, died at birth. Herb and Nancy resided in Fletcher, Oklahoma for many years.

Herb married Elizabeth Schwartzkopf in 1980 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They had three children, Corey Grissom, Nikkole Grissom Cossio and Lakkoda Grissom. Herb worked as a painter for over 50 years and enjoyed fishing, "junkin", and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed, JR, Virgil Grissom, and Stanley Grissom, sisters, Marie Grissom Wall and Louis Grissom Kiddy.

Herb is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Schwartzkopf) Grissom, children, Terry W. Grissom, Michelle Easton, Corey Grissom and Nikkole Cossio, and Lakkoda Grissom, grandchildren, Lillian, Christina, Jeffery, Jenna, Lauren, Braylee, Brody, Lyric, Analisa, Christian, Becky, Ian, and Lennox, great grandchildren, Vanessa Grissom, Sage Grissom, Spencer Lindsey, Madison Lindsey, and Chloe Stallings.
