Word has been received of the death of Helen P. Smith, 84, Lawton. Mrs. Smith passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at her residence following a short illness. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Helen was born July 3, 1928 in New York to James and Hermine Price. She owned her own children's clothing store for many years in Ocean City, Maryland, and retired in 1989 to St. Petersburg, Florida. Her life was filled with many adventures including performing as a singer in night clubs in Italy and New York. She was a lifelong Avon representative and received numerous awards. She moved to Lawton in 2004 to live with her family. Helen will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She is survived by her son, Cory Anderson, Sr. and his wife Brenda, Lawton; four grandchildren, Michelle Anderson-Rogers and husband Jerome, Magnolia, Delaware; Cory Anderson, Jr. and wife Kristen, Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, Lauren Anderson and Taylor Anderson, both of Lawton; one nephew, J. Duncan Price and two nieces, Stacey Price-Brown and Elizabeth Price and their children, all of Atlanta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Smith, and her brother, James Price.
