Memorial service for Helen J. McKay will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Curtis Erwin officiating.

Burial will take place in a private family ceremony in the Mountain Park Cemetery, Mountain Park, Oklahoma.

Helen J. McKay passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. She was born June 1, 1944, in Lawton to Lonzo Thomas and Sylvia Fern (Williams) Zumwalt.

Helen spent several years living in California, where she worked as an administrative assistant in a physician's office. She later returned to Lawton and, on May 8, 1991, married MAJ (Retired) George Edward McKay. George preceded her in death earlier that same day.

Helen had a passion for genealogical research and found great joy in tracing family histories. She also had a deep love for animals, which brought her much happiness throughout her life.

Helen had adopted Georges family as her own and is survived by George's children and their spouses, John and Belinda McKay, Mark and Sherry McKay, Cari and Rick Palesano, and Heather and John McMahan; grandchildren and their spouses, Dustin and Maria Tahmahkera, Kyla and Logan Phillips, Macy McKay, Dyllan and Kaitlin McKay, Ross and Maggie Palesano, Garrett Palesano, Bryce and Brianna Bolin, ,and Sydney and Chad Robinson; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Ella, John Daniel, Weston, Virginia, and Luke Avery.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Billie Kathryn Mitchell Allen.
