Funeral Mass for Hazel Viola Larkins, 96, Lawton, will be Noon Wednesday in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton, Pastor officiating. Mrs. Larkins died Saturday at her residence. Burial will be in Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. She was born near Cache, Oklahoma, on June 9, 1915 to W.W. and Carrie Viola (Brady) Seibert. She grew up in rural Comanche County and attended Stoney Point School. She attended high school courses at Cameron when it offered high school classes. She married John B. Larkins, Jr. on March 5, 1936 in Norman, Oklahoma, and began her life as a military wife and mother. Mr. Larkins preceded her in death on June 25, 1995. Mrs. Larkins was a caregiver for many ill and hospitalized members of the community, including the wife of the late Senator Elmer Thomas. She was also a babysitter for many local families. She was well known for many charitable and civic activities. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1193 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters who were her constant caregivers, Joann Thompson and Mary Stevens, of the home; three sons, COL (Retired) John B. Larkins, III and his wife, Carol, Gadsden, Alabama; Jerry Larkins and his wife Jackie, Lawton, and James Larkins and his wife, Linda, Okemah, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two infants, a granddaughter, five brothers, Cecil, Guy, Harold, James and Archie Seibert, a sister, Ethel Lugenbeel, and two half sisters, Betty Jarvis and Jetta Wolf.
