Funeral service for Hazel Johnson will be 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Grant Chapel A.M. E. Church with Rev. Laswanique M. Gray, Youth Pastor of Avery Chapel A.M.E. Church officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Hazel Johnson, age 63 of Chickasha passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 at her home in Chickasha. She was born August 1, 1954 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Elizabeth Johnson and William Harris.

Hazel entered the State School in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.  Hazel moved to Lawton in 1992 and became a part of the Great Plains Improvement Foundation, Inc. family.  Hazel worked in the Vocational Program through Quality Enterprise, Inc.  Later she transferred to the Goodwill Vocational Rehabilitation Program.  When she began to experience health challenges she attended the Goodwill Adult Daycare Program.

Hazel joined First Baptist Church in downtown Lawton until she started to have more health challenges.  On other occasions she would attend First Assembly of God Church.  She enjoyed being involved in activities with her friends.

Hazel really enjoyed life.  Her hobbies were shopping, going to the nail shop and beauty shop, spending time attending parties, going to the movies, museums and watching movies on her TV.

She had some special people whom she leaves to cherish her memories: Anne Jones-Gray and Fred Gray, Rev. Laswanique Gray, David Gray, Betty Ferguson, Gilda Chase, Michelle Collins, Carmella Hardy, Terria Jones and special girlfriends Joyce Wilson, E.G. Hevr, April Harvey and her roommates at Chickasha Opportunity.  Hazel will be greatly missed by all who encountered her.
