Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

The family will greet friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Harlie Don Haynie, age 84, Duncan, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 in Duncan.  He was born November 8, 1931 in Tillman County, Oklahoma, to Claude Mallory and Clara Mae (Goodman) Haynie.  Upon the death of his mother during his childhood, Harlie's father married Nancy Walters who loved and raised him as her own.  He grew up in Tillman County where he helped his dad farm and tend to their dairy.  He graduated from Laing Consolidated School in 1949.  Harlie married the love of his life, Peggy Jeannine Millirons, on February 2, 1954 in Snyder.  She preceded him in death on October 28, 2013 after 59 years of marriage.

Harlie was a hard working man who, many times, worked more than one job and instilled a strong work ethic in his children by example.  He always said "you are only as good as your word" and modeled this to his family.  He operated the Southend Texaco, pumping gas and attending to his customers.  He also was a custom harvester, traveling from West Texas to North Dakota.  Harlie and Peggy owned and operated the Dairyland in Snyder and the Dairy-X in Cache for many years.  He also worked for Anderson Trucking Company loading monuments to be shipped nationwide.  After his retirement, he actively supported Peggy with her Merle Norman Studio in Altus.

In spite of his busy life and hectic schedule, Harlie Don still made time to raise a few race horses, roll dice in Las Vegas and keep his yard looking good.  He also was very supportive of his children and grandchildren, always attending their livestock shows and sporting events.  This love for family made the family gathering at Christmas particularly special to him.  He was an avid OU fan and loved attending football games.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Mel Haynie, Duncan and Tony and Becky Haynie, Marlow; six grandchildren, Mickey Haynie and wife Krista, Frederick, Ryan Haynie and wife Dana,  Tulsa, Laura Hayes and husband Bo, Marlow, Carlee Haynie and fiancée Danny, Marlow, Logan Fanning and Seth Parnell, both of Duncan; five great grandchildren, Emma Jo Hayes, Braxton Haynie, Brielle Haynie, Harrison Haynie and Turner Haynie; two sisters-in-law, Delores Haynie and Carol Walters; brother-in-law, John Millirons and wife Cindy; several nieces and nephews.

His parents and two brothers, Claude Walters and Jerry Haynie, preceded him in death.

Harlie Don will forever hold a special place in our hearts.  Our lives will not be the same without him, but Heaven is rejoicing his arrival.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Aspire Hospice and the staff of Country Club Care for the loving care given in his time of need.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairlawn Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 365, Snyder, Oklahoma 73566.
