Graveside service for former Lawton resident Gwen H. Drapala will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Dr. William F. Watkins officiating.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Gwen H. Drapala, age 93, of Norman, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 in Norman.  She was born May 5, 1924 in Faxon, Oklahoma.  She married Joseph Drapala on August 4, 1946 in Medicine Park, Oklahoma. He passed away June 4, 1994.  Gwen attended Cameron College where she attained an associate degree.  She also attended Hill Business College.  She was employed for 32 years with Civil Service in the Adjutant General Office at Fort Sill, Oklahoma retiring on June 1, 1990.  Gwen was a Lawton resident until 2001 when she moved to Norman to be close to her children.  She was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawton.  Gwen was a dedicated wife and loving mother.

Survivors include two sons, William T. Drapala, Midwest City, Oklahoma and Charles R. Drapala and his wife Carol, Norman and a sister Vanita Solomons and her husband Jack, Melville, New York.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, Karl E. and Rosa E. Hurst.
