Funeral service for Gloria Helen Smith will be 9:30 AM Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Palesano officiating.

Burial will follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the funeral home.

Gloria Helen Smith, age 76, of Lawton, went home to meet her heavenly father on Wednesday January 27, 2016 in Lawton. She was born on June 30, 1939 in Vicksburg, MS. After high school she became a Practical Nurse. She helped many sick people in the community where she lived including her grandmother and mother. She traveled to many places with her husband Rev. Melvin Smith, who was in the military at the time. After her husband retired from the military, Gloria assisted him in prison ministries for more than 25 years where they were known as Mama & Papa Smith. She was a shining light for Christ where ever she went.

She is survived by her husband Rev Melvin Smith, 4 sons Fred M. Smith and wife Dr Jonnie Smith of TN, Melvin T. Smith and wife Robin Smith, Patrick E. Smith and wife LaQuita Smith, Daniel E. Smith of OK, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 15 brothers and sisters Susie B. Williams of CA, Ruby Graves, Lucille Bailey, Dorothy Graves, Louise Berry, Mary Jo Williams, Diane King, Lela A. Shelby, Henry Graves, Issac Graves, Shurn Graves, Michael Graves of MS, Lela M. Graves, May Graves, and Amos Graves of MN.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rappon and Josephine Peterson, mother Ruby Fisher, and 2 brothers James and Claude Graves.
