Funeral service for Glenda Gay Garton Thomas, 74, Lawton will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 8, 2013 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Monroe, Pastor of Ranchland Christian Church, San Diego, CA officiating. Glenda died Sunday, May 5, 2013 in a Lawton hospital. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. * The family will greet Friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5pm until 7pm * Glenda was born January 29, 1939 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Ray Garvin and Ruby Doyle (Osborn) West. She married Donald Ray Garton on March 22, 1955 in Clayton, NM. He died July 26, 1987. She then married Buddy Thomas. He also preceded her in death. Glenda was a homemaker, and for a brief time worked as a monitor tech at Comanche County Memorial Hospital and as a caregiver. Her family was her life, and she loved them dearly. She loved her flowers and was a member of several flower clubs in Lawton. She enjoyed cooking for her family and loved her pet cats. Glenda was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include her three children, Melody Moser and husband David of Claremore, OK, Anthony (Tony) Garton of Lawton, OK, Randy Garton and wife Janette of Lawton, OK, her siblings, Garvin L. West and wife Judy of Lawton, OK, Carol Monroe and husband Wayne of San Diego, CA, Deborah West and Warren Grover of Dallas, TX, sister-in-law June West of Geronimo, OK, grandchildren Jon Moser and wife Sonia of Tulsa, OK, Heather Daugherty and husband Brian of Nevada, MO, Ashley Garton of Lawton, OK, Melody Garton of Lawton, OK, three great granddaughters, Emma, Claire and Hannah Daugherty, brothers-in-law Max Garton and wife Sarah and Phil Garton and wife Donna, both of Amarillo, TX, sister-in-law Ruth Upchurch and husband Tom of Woodward, OK, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and a brother John West.
