Funeral service for Georgia Veldhuizen will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kerry Malakosky, pastor of Liberty Heights Chapel officiating.

Burial will follow at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.

Georgia Veldhuizen, age 81, of Lawton, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Lawton.  She was born December 24, 1940 in Warner, Oklahoma to Robert and Thelma (Pitts) Fillmore.  She married SFC (Retired) Leonard H. Veldhuizen on December 18, 1962 in Lawton.  He died March 5, 1982.  Mrs. Veldhuizen had worked for Lawton Public Schools as a cook and for the City of Lawton as a fee collector for the lakes.  She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha.  She was a devout Christian and a member of Liberty Heights Chapel.

Survivors include her daughter, Kristin Vick, Norman, Oklahoma, two sons, Karl Veldhuizen and Kent Veldhuizen and his wife Megan, all of Lawton and three grandchildren, Nicole Kump, Cooper Vick and Makenzie Veldhuizen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Keith Veldhuizen and Kevin Veldhuizen and two sisters, Ruth Gray and Noella Mossey.
