George Paul Sillani, III died Monday, May 24, 2021 in Marlow, Oklahoma at the age of 66. He was born December 15, 1954 to a military family at Fort Riley, Kansas. He moved around the United States with his family to various military installations, finally arriving in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where his father retired. The family moved to Florida.
George enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1974 and served as a 52B (Power Generator Mechanic) and then 63B (Wheel Vehicle Mechanic) until he was honorably discharged in 1976. He lived and worked in Florida until his sister, who lived in Lawton, was diagnosed with cancer. He then moved to Lawton to take care of her as well as caring for his mother.
He worked as a small appliance repairman and then as a truck driver until he injured his back and was unable to work. After his mother passed away and then his sister, George made the decision to remain in Lawton. He spent many years volunteering for the Humane Society of Lawton-Comanche County where he fostered and bottle fed hundreds of kittens over the years and helped find homes for many others.
George is survived by his sister, Karen Collier, Wesley Chapel, Florida; as well as numerous friends and many health care workers who loved him.
