Genoria F. (Miller) Bump died Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Oklahoma City.  She was born March 31, 1921, in Matador, Texas.  She married H.J. Bump on June 9, 1940, in Walters, Oklahoma. When H.J. met Genoria, he told his mother he knew she was the girl he was going to marry.  H.J. served in the Army and so they made several places their home.  Germany was their last assignment before returning to Lawton to retire.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking, Wheel of Fortune, and taking care of her family.  Her chocolate pie is legendary and a family favorite at all occasions.  When her granddaughter Jessie was one year old, Genoria drove every Sunday from Lawton to Moore to care for Jessie during the week.  She then drove home Friday and spent the weekends cooking for H.J. so she could return to Moore on Sunday.   When H.J. went to the Veteran's Center in Norman, Genoria stayed with her daughter's family and went two or three times a day at mealtimes to be sure H.J. was eating.  He thrived due to her care.

She was a member of Lawton First Assembly and while living in Lawton was very active in providing meals for families after funeral services.  Her dish of choice was pot roast with vegetables.

Genoria is survived by her daughter, Carroll S. Asseo and her husband Roger K. Asseo, granddaughter Jessie R. Asseo, the light of her life great-grandson Judah M. Bouskila, and many nieces and nephews.  The last few years of her life she also had caregivers who are greatly appreciated and loved. At the end, Judah was her favorite visitor and we all took a backseat to him.

Her three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.  All of her siblings and Genoria are greatly missed by the family.
