Age 89, Snyder - Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Sunday in the Becker Funeral Home Chapel, Snyder, with Rev. Don Chaffin, Pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church, Alex, OK officiating. Mrs. Ellis died Wednesday in a Lawton care center. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home of Snyder. She was born November 9, 1918 in Snyder, Oklahoma to George Benton and Ida Lee (Cook) Hodson. She married Joe Ellis on January 14, 1942 in Lawton, OK. He died April 20, 1965. She was a lifelong resident of Snyder and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Nilda Cliftene Rodriguez of Lawton, OK, Joan Gayle Akin of Frederick, OK, three sisters, Eleanor Tyler of Tulsa, OK, Robbie Ellen Carriger of Tulare, CA, Fern Marie Denham of Arkansas, five grandchildren, Jaye Maria Rodriguez Keepers of Kingwood, TX, Anthony Ellis Rodriguez, San Mateo, CA, Anna Maria Rodriguez of Norman, OK, Jolee Jill Akin-Doucet of Frederick, OK, Hugh Marshall Akin of Frederick, OK and five great grandchildren, Lauren Elyse Keepers, Emily Kathryn Keepers, Thomas Paul Doucet, Lia Teresa Martin and Mateo Rafael Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Wesley and William Hodson, and five sisters, Lucy Ryder, Mary Wallis, Ollie Cook, Manda Stanford and Lottie Walls.
