Obituary

Gary G. "Hitman" Garza aka 'Gorgeous Gary Garza", 57, of Lawton, Oklahoma passed away peacefully Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Gary was born on December 6, 1967, in Aberdeen, Maryland to Santiago R. and Gerda E. (Klauder) Garza. He held the title of little brother to four brothers and three sisters; and big brother to twins and was also known as 'The Hitman' for over 25 years while owning and operating Garza's Pest Control.

Cherished friends made in kindergarten remained just that even after graduation at Lawton High and many remained in close contact. He had an infectious smile, an irresistible laugh, and was always ready with a joke to lighten the mood no matter what the situation. Just as easily he would offer words of encouragement to someone in need of comfort. This rare gift impacted all who crossed his path and contributed to his business success.

Playing darts and going to the firing range were favorite pastimes. He was fiercely competitive and ready to accept challenges to display his skill. This competitiveness and passion he displayed resonated in everything he did.

He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers and put the fan in fanatic when it came to his devotion to Def Leppard and Seinfeld. He enjoyed fishing and many adventures were had when boating as well as some misadventures. Known for his grilling skills, charred chicken was his best dish. After meals at family gatherings, he was known to fall asleep on the floor watching television and would inevitably become a pillow for you.

He enthusiastically embraced time spent with his children and his grandchildren. Hearing them call him Papa was thoroughly enjoyable and always brought such happiness to his heart. With these memories made, his legacy will live on through them.

Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Annette Garza, daughters, Jessica Oplak and husband Chris, Taylor Andrews and husband Ryan, and Elizabeth Garza, sons, Joshua Garza and Alex Garza, one brother, Santiago "Jim" Garza, III and wife Jerrilyn, three sisters, Yolanda Wade, Gerda Cox and husband Ed, and Melinda Garza, 15 grandchildren, Braedan, Caleb, Adam, Daniella, Mercy, Justice, Logan, Able, Liberty, Elijah, Liam, Turner, Gloria, Lucian, Restin, and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved parents, three brothers, Danny, Gilberto and Armando Garza, and two sisters, Dolores Hubbard and Belinda Suson.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with son-in-law, Ryan Andrews presiding. Grave side service will follow at Highland Cemetery.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

'Until next time and there will be a next time!
