Gary Alan Becker died Monday, July 6, 2026, in Burkburnett, Texas, at the age of 75. He was born October 5, 1950, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Glenn Vernon and Elizabeth Routh (Kendall) Becker. He grew up in Lawton and graduated from Lawton High School with the Class of 1968.

Gary later earned a bachelor's degree in counseling and devoted many years to helping others through his work at Eastern State Hospital in Vinita, Oklahoma, before continuing his career with the State of Oregon. While living in Oregon, he married Karen Jensen, and together they shared many happy years. The couple eventually returned to Lawton and, due to declining health, recently made their home in Burkburnett, Texas.

Gary was raised in First Baptist Church of Lawton, where he developed a deep and abiding faith that remained the foundation of his life. Even while residing in a care center in Burkburnett, he continued to share his love for the Lord by leading a Bible study for fellow residents. Gary never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed spending time with others. He also found great joy in the outdoors, especially hiking, boating, and enjoying God's creation.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Becker, and two nephews and their spouses, Todd and Lisa Lambert and Chad and Erin Lambert.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Janet Lambert, an infant brother, Stuart Gregg Becker, and his beloved dog "Buddee".
