Word has been received of the death of Garnett V. "Tootsie" Hunt, 87, Lawton. No services are planned at this time. Mrs. Hunt died Monday at a local hospital. Arrangements are with the Becker Funeral Home. She was born October 21, 1922 in Cottageville, West Virginia to Ray and Ina (Hughes) Hartley. She was married to Starling B. "Punkin" Hunt. Mrs. Hunt was employed for many years as an assembler for High Tech Lighting. She will be greatly missed. "We all love you Tootsie". She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Hunter of Lawton and Barbara and Samuel Dawson of Augusta, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Michelle "J.D." Johnson of Lawton, Tracie Roush of Rochester, Michigan, Ian Baswell of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Connie Hammond of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Billy Hunt of Ohio, Daphne Slocum and Kristi Dawson both of Lawton; nine grandchildren, Steve Hammond, Erica Vaughn, Madison Hammond, Kalib Slocum, Natalie Roush, Alaina Roush, Michael Dawson, Cameron Dawson and Isaiah Dawson; and a great great granddaughter, Danashia. Her parents, husband, and four siblings preceded her in death.
