Memorial service for Flora Bell Whiteman will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2023 at First Baptist East.

She will be laid to rest in a ceremony at Fort Sill National Cemetery prior to the memorial service.

Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Flora Bell Whiteman died Monday, December 11, 2023 at her residence at the age of 87.  She was born January 14, 1936 in Harjo, Oklahoma and attended all twelve of school at St. Louis, Oklahoma.  She married Jackie R. "FatJack" Whiteman on October 2, 1955 in Oklahoma City.  He preceded her in death on October 22, 2022.

She had worked for Chapman Construction and for Jack Wilson in a light fixture store before accepting a position with the Lawton Public Schools.  She served as the school secretary at Whittier Elementary School and later at the Board of Education as an administrative assistant to Gwen Cox until her retirement.  She was a member of Paradise Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack R. Whiteman, Jr. and Pam, Elgin; her daughter, Debi Kensell, Frisco, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelly (Kensell) Townsend, Kristin Kensell, Jake Whiteman and wife Lia, and Sarah Neeley and husband Justin; six great grandchildren, Cooper, Payten and Wyatt Neeley, Sloane Evans, Trey Townsend and Danni Whiteman; three siblings, Albert Flesher and wife Topsy, Ella Terrell and Carol Woods; extended family, Stephen and Ashley Waite and their children, Max and Mason.
