Funeral for Evelyn Smith, 65, Sterling will be at 2:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Fletcher Christian Church with Rev. Jim Hall, pastor officiating. Miss Smith died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Sterling. Burial will be in Sterling Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Fletcher. The family will greet friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. She was born August 29, 1948 in Lemon, South Dakota to Ralph Marion and Millie Louise (Melton) Smith. Miss Smith was retired from Civil Service and was a longtime member of the Fletcher Christian Church Survivors include two brothers, Lindel Smith, Paris, Texas and Larry Smith and his wife Donna, Duncan, two sisters, Brenda Smith, Sterling and Deanna Pate and her husband Teddy, Rush Springs and several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Catherine Parsley.
