Graveside service for Evelyn Caperton will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 12, 2016 in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder with Pastor Tom Snider, Nazarene Church, Snyder officiating.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

*The family will greet friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm.*

Evelyn Caperton, 80, Altus, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 in an Altus hospital.  She was born February 3, 1936 in Oakwood, OK to Lee Brooks and Vera Cynthia (Welch) Thompson.  She married Roy Paul Caperton in Vernon, TX in 1972.  He passed away in 1989.  She loved her children, grandchildren and family.  She enjoyed reading, writing and spending time at the Nazarene Church in Snyder where she was a longtime member.  She loved her God and church.

Evelyn is survived by her sister Cynthia Harold of Mountain Park, OK, 7 children, Rhonda Marshall of Edmond, OK, Alan Phelps and wife Ava of Edmond, OK, Sheila Burns of Altus, OK, Karla Garcia of Edmond, OK, Russell Lemieux of Oklahoma City, Teri Jo Gilbert of Edmond, OK, Mary Beth Caperton of Altus, OK, and was preceded by an eighth child, her son "Sonny" Phelps.  She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers, a sister.
