Funeral service for Eva Faye Horne will be at 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the First Baptist Church, Snyder with Rev. Jeff Flowers, Former Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder.

Eva Faye Lance Horne, 91 passed from this life to be with her heavenly Father Wednesday, May, 10, 2017 at West Haven Nursing Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  Eva was born to William F. and Rosa Lance on February 9, 1926 at Hobart Oklahoma. She lived on a farm with her parents and five siblings and attended Hobart School.

At age 17, Eva married James Earl Horne on September 10, 1943. She and Earl farmed wheat and cotton and raised feeder pigs. Eva cared for the family home and helped raise two sons.  She was no stranger to any aspect of farming or working in town to supplement the farm income. Two sons were born to them: James and Johnny.

After the passing of Earl Horne in 1967, Eva and Johnny continued to raise cotton, wheat, and feeder pigs until the farm was acquired to build Tom Steed Lake.  Eva was an excellent farm manager and with savings, purchased a number of rent homes. She worked as a dietician at Ayers Nursing Home in Snyder. James Horne, upon the insistence of his mother, continued school at OSU.

In 1973, she married S.R. Jennings and settled in Roosevelt, Oklahoma.  In later years Eva moved to Snyder and as health declined moved to Stillwater. In every location she lived she made many friends.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt and then in Snyder.  She had accepted Christ earlier in life and was anxious to meet her Lord and Savior.  In her last years she attended the Stillwater Church of Christ with her son Johnny and family.

She is survived by two sons and their wives:  James and Brenda of Fanshawe, OK, John and Cathy of Stillwater, three grandchildren and spouses, Douglas and Courtney Horne of Fanshawe, Wes and Sharbee Horne of Stillwater, and Andrea and Jeremie Moore of Wister. Her joy was watching her nine great-grandchildren play. They are: Caleb, Daydree, Caitlyn, Cally, Colton, Cambri, and Cordsen Horne and Tristan and Samuel Moore. Eva is survived by sisters-in-law Betty Dixon and Helen Trotter of Lawton, OK and many nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her first husband Earl Horne, second husband S.R. Jennings, parents William F. and Rosa Lance, sisters, Grace Shillings Krumm and Pauline Pollard and spouses, and brothers Jim, Harold, and Tommy Lance and spouses.

The family extends its special thanks to the Staff of West Haven Nursing Home in Stillwater as well as family doctor, Ron Brown, DO.

In lieu of flowers, gifts of Gideon Bibles in Eva's memory are appreciated.
