Funeral Mass for Eugen Zinser will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Philip Seeton and Deacon Mike Romaka officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Serenity Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Eugen Zinser was born March 29, 1936, in Illerberg, Germany, to Hans and Maria (Jehle) Zinser. He grew up in Germany and attended trade school, where he learned the craft of sausage making.
In December 1958, Eugen came to the United States and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. He worked at Fett German Meat Market before joining the Earl C. Gibbs Packing House. While living in Cleveland, he met Erika Hirmer, and they were married on April 23, 1960, at St. Stephen Catholic Church.
In August 1981, Eugen and Erika moved to Lawton, where they opened Zinser's Meat Market. Together, they operated the business until their retirement in 1999.
Eugen was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he served as a church usher for many years. He took great pride in his home and yard and spent countless hours tending his lawn and flower gardens. He also enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV throughout the years.
Eugen was especially proud of becoming a naturalized citizen of the United States, a country he was grateful to call home. He was even more proud to be Opa to his five grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Erika Zinser; three children and their spouses, Eugen M. Zinser and his wife Sabrina, Dr. Heidi Flood and her husband, Dr. Larry Flood, and Martin Zinser and his wife Trina; five grandchildren, Scott Zinser and his wife Dr. Ashley Zinser, Ryan Flood, Danielle Flood, Brayden Zinser and Sean Zinser; two great grandchildren, Camden Zinser and Berkeley Zinser; and his sister, Rosemarie O'Keeffe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Anton Zinser.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 1010 NW 82nd Street, Lawton OK 73505.
