Funeral service for Esther Mae Harmon, 77, Lawton, will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Bill Boles and Rev. Mike Murray officiating. Mrs. Harmon died Wednesday in Lawton. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. She was born October 28, 1933 in Mansfield, Arkansas. She grew up in Arkansas and graduated high school in Mansfield. She was working as a waitress in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where she met her husband, CW2 (Retired) James A. Harmon, whom she married on September 30, 1954 at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on April 4, 2002. She had been a sales associate with World Book Encyclopedias, Mason Shoes, Mary Kay and was retired from Montgomery Ward's where she worked in the drapery department and earned many sales awards. She was a member of the Lawton Heights Church of the Nazarene and taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She served on the church board and was a volunteer with the Comanche County Election Board. She is survived by a daughter, Donna J. Harmon, Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sons and daughters in law, Tom and Danna Harmon, El Reno, Oklahoma, and Rick and Nancy Harmon, Virginia Beach, Virginia; several brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren, Michelle Leubner and husband Jason, Tiffany Cole, Tonie Roberts-Harmon, Porsche Harmon, Jesse Harmon, Zachary Harmon and David Harmon; four great grandchildren, Emily, Cameron, Mackenzie and Isabella. Her parents and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
