Funeral services for Eskil Scharolett Hayslip, 93, Mountain Park, will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the First Baptist Church, Mountain Park, with Emmett Hayslip, officiating. She passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Altus, OK. Burial will be in the Mountain Park Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. * The Family will greet friends Friday evening, June 21, 2013 at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm. * Eskil was born August 28, 1919 in a log cabin southeast of Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Sullivan and Stella (Brown) Holt. At the age of two, she and her family moved to consolidated 8 where she graduated junior high and high school with the honor of valedictorian, and winning a scholarship to attend Stephens Women's College in Missouri. Eskil married Grady Weldon Hayslip on August 27, 1937 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma. They lived in Cold Springs until moving to California and later moving to the Mountain Park area. They had three children, Weldon, Maritta and Carol. She became a member of the Mountain Park Baptist Church in 1947. She loved her Lord and taught her children and grandchildren to love him. Eskil was a homemaker. Her greatest pleasure was serving her family and friends. She loved having her children and grandchildren home for a visit. She is survived by her two daughters; Maritta Lipsit and husband Gerald of Phoenix, AZ, Carol Barker and husband Wayne of Snyder, OK, 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, 3 brothers and a sister.
