Errol Urban Miller went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 4, 2026. He passed at home with family. Errol was a very religious and dedicated man to the Lord. He was 87 years old.
Errol was born October 2, 1938 in Fresno, California to Elsie and Urban Miller. He was a drum major in high school, marching the band in all events of the school. Errol was very active in the vineyards of Fresno, having lived with his parents on the family ranch vineyards.
Errol joined the United States Army in 1961 and was assigned to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Errol was on orders to transport to the Cuban Crisis. The crisis ended and at the last minute troops were released due to the end of the crisis and he was saved from entering combat. He was discharged in 1964 with an honorable discharge.
Errol met Wynema Sloan, his wife to be, in the First Congregational Church of Lawton, the church of Rev. Wallock, founder of the Easter Pageant of the Wichita Mountains. Wynema and Errol were very active in the church as Wynema was the organist and Errol sang in the choir. One year later they were married in the church on November 8, 1963 and were married for 62 years.
In 1962 Errol began his 35 year career with Public Service Company of Oklahoma (American Electric Power). He served as supervisor over the Relay and Control Department for the southwestern region of Oklahoma.
He loved to go fishing and water skiing at Lake Lawtonka and Fort Cobb and camping with family. Errol and Wynema traveled extensively with her mother and father, visiting most of the 50 states, Canada and Mexico. They attended the World's Fair in Montreal, Canada in 1967. Errol also enjoyed CB meetings and events with his handle "Cricket". Errol also enjoyed going to religious and Christian concerts and loved Christian music. Most of all, he enjoyed his wife's beautiful Christian piano music as he would listen for hours. He was very active all his life until he broke his hip in September 2025 and then developed pneumonia.
