Zimmerman, Private School of Commerce where she specialized in Business.  During WW II she met and married Jimmie L. Apple, a U.S. Army soldier who was stationed in Germany.  As the War was ending they left Germany and came to the United States in March of 1948.  They lived in El Paso, Texas until moving to their final hometown of Lawton in 1949.  Emmy Apple was proud to receive and become a U.S. citizen on June 12, 1951 in Lawton.  She proclaimed "I came to the USA to raise and nurture a family with my husband Jimmie".  Once they established a home in Lawton, Emmy soon became involved in many activities.  She, along with her husband, became First Aid Instructors for the American Red Cross Lawton Chapter.  She was also the treasurer for Jefferson Elementary School and Central Jr. High PTA.  Her involvement with activities outside the home didn't stop there.  She became and was a 30 year member of the Lawton Council of Campfire Girls, serving Camp C'Andy as "Nursie" for 15 summers.  Emmy was a group leader for 18 years, where she received many awards.  The highest being the Dr. Gullick Award.  She also served on the Camp Fire Girls Council as well as the Board of Directors in many offices, ending as Vice-President in 1980.  When she stepped down from the Board of Directors it was to accept employment first as the Council secretary, then as Field Director and finally as the Acting Director until the Council merged with Oklahoma City Camp Fire in 1992.  Emmy was a devoted member of the Lawton Heights United Methodist Church since 1956, until her health prevented her from attending.  As a member she served as the Children's Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendant, United Methodist Women's Treasurer and as the church treasurer.  She was also a longtime member of the Odessa Circle.

She is survived by her three children; Susan and husband Danny of Tulsa, Oklahoma, James and wife Vicki of Lawton, Janet and husband Louis of Muskogee, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren; Kathleen and husband Brock, Chris and wife Emily, Jeremy and wife Chasity, Shelby and fiancé Wade, Benjamin, Andrew and Jacob.  She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Shay, Emilie, Elizabeth, Landon, Makayla, Makynzie, Jaxon, Corrine and Everett.
