Emily J. Bennight, 90, of Lawton passed away on Monday, October 8, 2018.  A private family graveside service was held on Monday, October 15, 2018 under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, Lawton with Dr. Bill Watkins officiating.

She was born August 14, 1928 in Lineville, Alabama to John Martin and Lexi (Jordan) Martin.  A short time later her family moved to Roosevelt, Oklahoma area where she graduated from high school in 1946.  She married Wesley A. Bennight on August 31, 1946 in Cache, Oklahoma.  They were married for over 68 years prior to his death on March 7, 2015.  Emily was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school in the Children's Division.  She, along with her husband were dedicated workers in the church's Bus Ministry for 24 years.

She is survived by her son John Bennight and wife Twila of Lawton, daughter Brenda Pallett and husband Scott of Owasso, Oklahoma, grandchildren Brad Bennight and wife Sarah of Highland Village, Texas, Brent Bennight and wife Candi of Fletcher, Oklahoma, Bethany Brooks and husband John of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kristen Lamont and husband Eric, Ashley Pallett and Matthew Pallett all of Owasso, Oklahoma, and great grandchildren Emma Bennight, Isabel Bennight, Brooklyn Bennight, Brayden Bennight, Cadence Bennight, Mallory Brooks, Garon Brooks, Cohen Brooks and step-great grandson Jacob Schumard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Kirby Martin, and sisters Cornelia Bates and Catherine Chancellor.
