Funeral services for Emaline Jeter Hough were held Saturday, March 24, 2018, in the First Baptist Church of Snyder, with Pastor Nick Johnson officiating.
On March 18, 2018, Emaline made her heavenly journey to be with the Lord. Emaline was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Snyder. At the time of her passing she was a resident at Noble Healthcare Center, where she had many friends, and was very involved in all of the activities.
She was born May 28, 1925, to Elmer Walter Potts and Minnie Lee Potts in Healdton. Emaline was the third child of five. Her family was very important to her from an early age, and throughout her life. The Potts family worked hard, and the bond of love between them was very strong. They worked together on many farms all around Oklahoma.
As an adult she continued to work hard as a home maker for her family. She branched out to working outside of the home as well. Emaline opened a café in Snyder named the Chili Bowl. She also worked for Betsy Bra and Kellwoods clothing factories. Not only did she work hard, she enjoyed spending time with her friends. She loved playing games, fishing, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her mother, father and four siblings: Lorene Sanders, Cubert Potts, E.W. Potts, and Marvin Lee Potts; also her husband Verlan Jeter, and second husband Glen Hough, as well as her son Dennis Owen Jeter and step-children Loretta, Barry, Larry, and Paula Hough.
She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Poe and husband Richard of Norman, her daughter Marsha Sandlin and husband Robert of Houma, Louisiana, and daughter-in-law Mary Jeter of Snyder; also, five grandchildren Sharmin Flecker, Scott Poe, Shawn Jeter, Sherry Kelch, and Shea Sandlin; and seven great-grandchildren: Rylan Flecker, Jennice, Alivia, and James Jeter, Cody Clay and Sheyenne Kelch. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Emaline will be missed, but never forgotten by all who knew her.
