Age 84, Lawton - Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. Mrs. Britton died Thursday at her residence. Arrangements are under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home. She was born November 6, 1924 in Weisbaden, Germany, to Wilhelm and Wilhelmine (Worsdorfer) Wintermeyer. She grew up in Germany where she worked and served in the German military, manning a radar station. She married MSG (Retired) James H. Britton on April 9, 1955 in Weisbaden, Germany. He preceded her in death on December 11, 1993. After moving to the United States she was primarily a homemaker and had been a Lawton resident since 1978, coming here from Fort Bliss, Texas. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Charles and Sonja Britton, Lawton; five grandchildren and their spouses, Damian Thomas Britton, Christopher and Tanya Hartoon, Christel and Nate Ashe, Dakota Teel and Haily Teel; three great grandchildren, Tyler Hartoon, Andrew Hartoon and Mila Ashe; a brother in law, Jesse Hernandez, Lawton; several nieces and nephews to include Gilbert and Anita Hernandez and Ricky and Karen Hernandez.
