She was born November 7, 1941, in Driscoll, Texas, to Clifford Davis and Louise Bisch. Along with her three brothers and two sisters, Ellen spent much of her childhood along the Texas Gulf Coast near Galveston. Her family later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma, where she met the love of her life, Frank Gatliff. The couple married on July 19, 1958, and were blessed with two daughters, Rhonda Gail Clark of Norman, Oklahoma, and Sondra Elaine Brown of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Her family continued to grow over the years to include six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lawton Oklahoma. A devoted Christian, she had many roles in her lifetime serving in the church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and helped in the kitchen preparing and serving food for church socials and funerals. She was a social butterfly and always enjoyed her women's ministry groups.
She retired from Standley Systems in 2006. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She had a gift that always made them feel special and loved in their own way.
She is survived by her two daughters, Rhonda Clark of Norman, Oklahoma, and Sondra Brown of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Her sister, Helen Pack and brother, Kenneth Davis, both of Parsons, Kansas. Ellen also leaves a legacy through her six grandchildren: Bradley Zimmer and wife Emily, Chad Zimmer, Lora Schiltz and husband Patrick, Blake Elliott and wife Taylor, Cliff Elliott, and Ethan Elliott and wife Olivia. She will also be remembered by her seven great-grandchildren: Dillan Zimmer, Addison Zimmer, Weston Setzer, Harrison Elliott, Annie Elliott, Meredith Elliott, and Parker Elliott and her one great great granddaughter, Amelia Kay Zimmer.
