Funeral service for Ella Eulalia Arnold, 97, former Lawton resident will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Phil Norman and Ben White officiating. Mrs. Arnold died Tuesday, November 4, 2014, in Norman, Oklahoma. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Arnold was born August 20, 1917 in Conception Junction, Missouri, to Fred Alvis and Preppa Ella (Farr) Best. As a young girl she and her family traveled by train and settled in the Hulen Community, east of Lawton. She attended school through the eighth grade in Hulen at a one room schoolhouse. She married Floy Arnold on October 29, 1935 in the parsonage of the Methodist Church at Hulen. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2006. Mrs. Arnold was a devoted Christian and was baptized in the First Christian Church in Walters. She was later a member of Carriage Hills Christian Church, Lawton, Westside Christian Church, Duncan, and First Christian Church, Broken Arrow. Homemaker was not just her occupation but defined who she was. As a wife, mother and grandmother she enjoyed family reunions and taking her grandsons to the Wichita Mountains. She could quilt, knit, sew and was an excellent cook. She also played the piano and accordion by ear. She is survived by a daughter and son in law, Flo Ella and Ed Potts, Norman; three grandsons and their spouses, Brad Potts, Dr. Geoff and Donna Potts and Greg and Laura Potts, all of Norman; two great granddaughters, Annabella and Sophia Potts; a sister, Nadine Booher, Walters, Oklahoma. Her parents and siblings, Susie Ragland, Oakle Hilbert, Gwendolyn Hilbert, Zell Best, Evelyn Best, Richard Best, Don Best, Troy Best and Ted Best, preceded her in death.
