Age 88, Lawton - Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bob Davis, Pastor, Wesleyan Nazarene Church, officiating. Mrs. Ponder died Sunday at her home. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. She was born April 16, 1921 in Ruda, Poland to Carl and Florantine (Prudlik) Zdrzalek. She married Arthur R. Ponder in Frankfurt, Germany in 1955. He died in 1998. Mrs. Ponder was the originator of the "Arts For All Festival" in Lawton and had served as the president of the Lawton Arts Guild. Her paintings have been displayed in Europe, New Mexico and all over the United States. She is survived by her sister, Edeltraut Heieis of Canada, friends, Bob and Teina Davis, Mary Taylor, and her longtime caregiver, Ruth Gill, and many other friends in the Lawton area. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Licia Atwell.
