Age 96, Lawton - Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday at the Western Hills Church of Christ with Harley Davidson, Minister, officiating. Effie Lee was called to heaven to be with her Lord Jesus and beloved husband Paul on Monday, February 7, 2011 in Lawton. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. She was born November 18, 1914 in Sadler, Texas to Wade Henry and Carrie (Grose) Martin. She married Paul C. Williams in Tipton, Oklahoma on November 28, 1935. He died March 8, 1996. She worked for Consolidated Gas Company and retired from Fort Sill Civil Service. When her children were young she hosted a cooking show on KSWO. Effie Lee was also co-owner and operator of Williams Auto and Alignment where she worked with her husband. She loved her church family and was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon's wife. She served in the Ladies Ministry where she assisted in planning activities for the church. Paul and Effie Lee also enjoyed opening their home to the teenagers of their church. It was very important to her that kids had a place to go and fellowship. Effie was an excellent sales lady and enjoyed being around people. She was an independent distributor of Luzier Cosmetics, Princess House Crystal and Westmoreland China, Crystal and Sterling Silver. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women of America and Ellen H. Richards Club. She was very active in her children's lives, serving as den mother and Blue Bird and Camp Fire Leader. She was named "Mimi Lee" by her grandchildren and leaves behind a legacy of faith and love. "Mimi Lee" was deeply devoted to her family and gave of herself to all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She absolutely loved being a part of their lives and for 96 glorious years she was able to attend dance recitals, school plays, ball games, graduations, weddings and births. Most recently she held and cuddled her ninth great grandchild. She was a gifted gardener and was able to grow even the most difficult plants with just a start. Effie Lee was also a master seamstress, sewing all of her daughter's clothes as she grew up. She was never idle, always staying busy sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting or drawing. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Karyleen Johnson of Lawton; a son and daughter in law, Ronald Jim Williams and Sandra L. of Duncan; five grandchildren, Kara Denee Williams, Kevin Blake Williams and wife Kellie Michele, Keri Melissa Hitt and husband Damon, Brett Wade Williams and wife Rachael, Lori Kristin Reid and husband Cody; nine great grandchildren, Kyra, Anna Grace, Halle, Hayden, Rylan, Carsen, Lauren, Madalyn and Allison; a special friend, Gina Calvin; and many nieces and nephews.
