Funeral for Edith Fay Hegwood, 83, Lawton will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Harold Gaches, pastor of First Baptist West officiating. Mrs. Hegwood died Friday, March 27, 2015 in Lawton. Entombment will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. She was born June 28, 1931 in Charleston, Arkansas to William Edgar and Flossie Mae (McLaughlin) Stites. She married SFC (Retired) Walter F. Hegwood on April 7, 1952 in Van Buren, Arkansas. He died September 17, 1994. Mrs. Hegwood worked as a realtor for Parks Jones Realty and Coldwell Bankers Realty. She retired in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Nolen, Lawton, six grandchildren, Kim Johnson, Jennifer Adams, Caitlin Renz, Evelyn Hegwood, Hunter Hegwood and Sunny Hegwood, four great grandchildren, Haley Eaves-Johnson, Grace Johnson, Ethan Johnson and Aspen Hegwood and a sister, Zona Maness. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Wesley F. and David M. Hegwood and a brother, Charles Stites.
