Funeral Service for Ed Sparks, 63, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Delbert Beard officiating.

Edwin Eugene Sparks was born on May 10, 1963, to Horace and Mathilde (Bauer) Sparks in Grand Prairie, Texas. Ed graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1981 and proceeded to serve his country as a Marine in 1982. Ed proudly served in the United States Marine Corps until 1988, with stations in San Francisco and Okinawa.

Following his military career, Ed earned his bachelor's degree and went on to work as a Logistics and Distribution Manager for Freedom Air, where he continued to consult until his passing.

Ed loved the outdoors and enjoyed sharing that passion by hiking with his nephews. He was immensely proud of his service as a Marine, a devoted Star Wars fan, an avid blackjack player, and a marathon runner. Ed will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ed is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Dee and Brad Tanksley; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Sally McGowan; niece, Mikayla; and nephews, Braeden, Dylan, Miles, and Zachary.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Horace G. and Mathilde M. Sparks; brother, Jeff Sparks; and nephew, Blaine.
