Memorial service for Dwight Leon Sallee, 70, Lawton, will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, in the North Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall with Frankie Hall, Elder officiating. Mr. Sallee died Saturday, March 21, 2015, in Oklahoma City. Dwight was born October 6, 1944 in Lawton to Clyde F. Sallee and Gloria Joyce Hornsby. He moved to California at a very young age where he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Duke Christian. He was a graduate of Richmond High School in Richmond, California. He played football in high school and after graduation returned to Lawton and attended Cameron University on a football scholarship, playing for two years and then enlisting in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge from the Army he worked in the cablevision industry where he built, managed and owned cable systems. He later retired from the Department of Public Safety as a driver's license examiner. He married Carol Jane Connolly on December 10, 1966 in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. She preceded him in death on May 18, 1994. He later married DeeDee Hobbs on April 30, 1995 in Lawton. He was a member of the North Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and had served as ministerial servant. He is survived by is wife, of the home; four children, Laura C. Turnbull and husband Darryl, Shannon M. Strickland, Jared C. Sallee and wife Danielle and Matthew Hobbs; six grandchildren, Derek Turnbull, Dillon Turnbull, Brandy Bell and husband Brandin, Kelsey Turnbull, Steven Strickland and Blake Strickland; a sister and brother in law, Letha and Ronnie Hartline; a brother and sister in law, Larry and Pam Sallee; a brother in law and sister in law, Alan and Veckie Hall; numerous nieces and nephews. His father and step mother and mother and step father as well as a brother, Dale Christian, preceded him in death.
