Funeral service for Dorothy Viola Toups will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 5, 2024 in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy passed away in Lawton Oklahoma on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. She was born in Union County, Arkansas on February 22, 1931, the second youngest child of seven children. She was raised in the country with strong work ethics. She had many jobs, but her favorite was being a homemaker. She had to quit school in the 8th grade, but she later went back and received her GED in her 60's, and was proud to walk the stage. She married Delmar Owens on February 20, 1948. She was later married to James H. Toups until his death on December 13, 2002.

She had many hobbies that she loved, gardening, painting, cake decorating and reading her Bible. She served as a Lay Leader for Aldersgate United Methodist Church and volunteered at Redemption Church. She served as Bethel Guardian of Job's Daughters, Bethel #7 where she loved spending time with the girls taking them on trips to many places.

She is survived by her sister, Esther Rapp of Eldorado, Arkansas, her children, Delmar E. Owens (Lynn) San Antonio, Texas, Daena Blake, Lawton, Oklahoma and Reesie (Martin) Marlow, Cache, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Brandy (Dwight) Upton, Alaska; Andrea (Bam) Newaygo, Michigan; Danny (Crystal) Owens, Texas; Renda (Chris) Goode, Des Moines, Iowa, John Newell, Lawton, Oklahoma and Holly (Nick) Hoad, New Berry, Florida, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents William McKinley Hansen & Callie Ivy Bass, her siblings; Joseph Hansen, Paul Julius Hansen, Earl McNeal Hansen; Ruth P. Hansen and Myrtis Hansen Nash and her spouses, Delmar Owens & James Toups.
