Graveside service for Dorothy Jane Malik will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, OK.

Burial will be under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Dorothy Jane Malik, 73, Lawton, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 in a Lawton nursing home.  She was born September 7, 1942 in Washington County, Pennsylvania to George E. and Elizabeth Jane (Burkhart) Hixson.  She married SFC (Retired) Donald E. Malik, Jr., on July 24, 1973 in Scottdale, PA.  He passed away May 30, 1989.  She was a secretary at Fort Sill for many years and was a legal secretary for five years.  One of her great accomplishments was getting her BA from Cameron University later in her adult years.  She and Donald came to Lawton in 1975, where he later retired at Fort Sill.  Dorothy loved traveling, working crossword puzzles and was a devout Christian and member of Central Baptist Church for over thirty years.

Survivors include her 3 children, Cynthia Wallace, Scott Hough, Kathy King, 5 grandchildren, Samantha Mason, Jennifer Mason, Michael Mason, Caitlyn Sims, Rachel King, 5 great grandchildren, Jasmine Newton, Adalyn Ehlert, Logan Humphries, Sadie Combs and Persephone Sims.  She was also survived by her brothers and sisters, George Hixson and wife Glendine, Louis Hixson and wife Gertrude, Nancy Grimm and husband Frank, Marlene Garlowich and husband Edward, Janet Ellenberger, Karen Cramer and husband Joseph and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother.
