Dorothy June (Monroe) Jenkins, 90, of Lawton passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Lawton.  She was born October 2, 1928 in Senath, Missouri to Lowell and Flossie (Ladyman) Monroe.  She graduated from Senath High School and went on to attend Arkansas State Teachers College in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  She loved all the activities in college and often mentioned being a member of the Women's Athletic Association.  After college she taught elementary school and even served as principal in one first post.  On October 8, 1949 she married her great love Harvey Gean Jenkins and thus began her life of building a family wherever life moved them.  Her primary role after her children were born was homemaker, and she always remained active in her children's lives.  After her grandchildren and even great- grandchildren were born, Grandma Jenkins could be found among the spectators attending events in which they were involved.  One of her great losses was the death of her youngest child, Julie Ann in 1982.  With great faith she continued through life but with the tender loss.

She is cherished by her daughter Jennifer Jenkins Weber and her husband Mark of Tulsa and her son Jim Jenkins and his wife Sharon of Lawton, grandchildren Ryan and his wife Hayley Jenkins of Elgin, Brent and his wife Adrian Jenkins and Melissa Jenkins of Lawton, John and his wife Ann Weber and Ben and his wife Natalie Weber both of Tulsa, great- grandchildren, Jordyn and Cruz Jenkins of Lawton, Avery and Owen Jenkins of Elgin, Brody and Matthew Weber of Tulsa and Gracyn, Jack and Harvey Weber of Tulsa.  She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Delaney of Warrenton, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Vada Monroe Harris, her husband Harvey Jenkins and her daughter Julie Ann Jenkins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
