Funeral service for Dorothy Helen Fencil will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 in Boulevard Congregational & Christian Church with Dr. Ralph Alexander, Pastor officiating.

Private burial will be at a later date in Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kansas.  Arrangements are under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Dorothy Helen Fencil, age 93, Lawton, died Friday, March 2, 2018.  She was born November 26, 1924 in Winfield, Kansas to Oran and Carrie Jones.  When she was in the second grade the family moved to Arkansas City, Kansas where her father was a telegrapher for the Santa Fe Railway.  She graduated high school in Arkansas City in 1942 and attended junior college there, graduating in 1944.  She then transferred to Oklahoma A&M where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in home economics.  She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority which she enjoyed.

She married J.B. Fencil on June 23, 1946 in Arkansas City.  He preceded her in death on January 8, 2015.  The couple spent many happy years traveling the country and finally made Lawton their home.  She was a member of Boulevard Congregational & Christian Church.

She is survived by her sister, Rosalee McCormick, Park Ridge, Illinois as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her parents and a sister, Betty Parman, preceded her in death.
