Funeral service for Doris G. Selin will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Daniel Litchford of Comanche County Memorial Hospital Hospice officiating.

Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Doris G. Selin, 89, of Lawton, Oklahoma was born July 8, 1933 in Duncan, Mississippi to Frank and Derotha (Johnson) Green. She was the second of four children. Doris grew up in Duncan, Mississippi and Clarksdale, Mississippi. It was in Clarksdale where Doris received her early education. Doris relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Doris was a lover of life!  She traveled extensively and brought joy and laughter wherever she went.  She took time to explore and appreciate the nuances of her environment every day.

Doris cherished and honored her relationship with God. She touched lives and proved a blessing to all who knew her. The service(s) she rendered unto others was in service to her Lord.

Doris was accredited with many hospitality trainings.  Among these were numerous certifications from The Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association and The National Executive Housekeepers Association, Inc. Doris modeled integrity and professionalism with distinction as an honored member of the National Executive Housekeepers Association, Inc. Most notably, among coworkers, junior members of her staff, family and friends, she is best remembered as a mentor, teacher and most treasured friend. Doris retired from the hospitality service with numerous years of service on June 30, 1996.  After retirement, Doris settled in Lawton, Oklahoma. When she was married to her second husband she enjoyed traveling on their motorcycles. Doris liked to cook and spend time with her family.

Doris is survived by her two sons, Maurice Green and wife Ok Sun of Lawton, Oklahoma and Myron Green of Miami, Florida, five grandchildren, Richard Green and wife Destiney Johnson of Raleigh, North Carolina, Myron Green, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jazmine Green of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jason Green of California, and Diamond Green of Douglasville, Georgia, seven great grandchildren, Taylor Johnson, Alijah Smith, Alvin Smith, Jr. Miley Green, Mya Green, Madison Green, Mariah Green and other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Dorothy Miles and Derotha Wilson, and one brother, Frank Green, Jr. and son Morris Green.
