Funeral service for Doris "Oma" Myers will be at 2:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2016 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Rod Ozmun officiating.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends Thursday afternoon from 4pm until 6pm at the funeral home.

Doris "Oma" Myers, 92, longtime Lawton resident, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her residence in Lexington, OK.  She was born January 19, 1924 in Landshut, Germany.  She married Daniel C. Allen in Germany in 1948.  She later married 1SG (Retired) Thomas F. Myers on July 12, 1983 in Wichita Falls, TX.  He passed away September 8, 2013.  She was a proud, strong, fiercely independent woman who loved her German heritage, family, friends and most of all cooking.  Cooking was one of many ways she shared her love with others.  As Mitch would say, "you never went hungry".  She never let a child or friend go hungry, and was "Oma" to all.  She had unconditional love for all people.  She was a charter member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lawton, a member of the German/American Club and she loved to fish.  She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and church.

Survivors include her six children and spouses, Virginia Thomas and husband Don of Ponca City, OK, Tom Allen and wife Claire of Denver, CO, Mitch Allen and wife Carol of Durham, NH, Vicky Allen and husband Ricky of Lexington, OK, Lynn Jones and husband Larry of Grand Prairie, TX, Mike Myers and wife Jacqueline of Lawton, OK, grandchildren; Jeff, Ricky, Deanna, Shawn, Ronnie, Meghan, Jennifer, Kristen, George, Ashley, Michael, Amanda, Alicia and Michelle.  She is also survived by several great and great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands and a son Butch Allen.
