Doris Burk passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. She was born on April 16, 1941, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Johnnie and Dolly (Black) Johnson. A 1959 graduate of Lawton High School, Doris married Billy Paul Burk on November 24, 1962, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2014.
Doris began her career at Public Finance Company before joining Haggar Slack Company, where she worked until the Lawton plant closed. She then embarked on a long and fulfilling career as a secretary at Great Plains Area Vo-Tech. After retiring from Vo-Tech, she continued working at Gene Burk Auto Glass.
Spending time with her family brought Doris great joy, and she rarely missed an opportunity to attend her children's and grandchildren's activities. She and Billy loved to travel together. Doris also enjoyed shopping, whether browsing QVC or hunting for treasures at garage sales-always on the lookout for something special to give to someone else.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey Burk and wife Denise, Johnny Burk and Jimmy Burk, all of Lawton; grandchildren, Jeremy Burk and wife Missy, Shelby Paul Burk, Joshua Jones, Josey Thiessen, Edward Zacharia Burk, Caleb Smalley, Ethan Smalley and wife Destiny and Adam Smalley; ten great grandchildren; brothers, Dale Johnson and Johnnie "Butch" Johnson; and her sister, Joyce Valdez and husband Dusty; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Faye Nelson Kitchner, sisters-in-law, Connie Johnson and Sherry Johnson.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Lawton Post Acute for the exceptional care given to Doris.
