Dora Scharen, 73, of Lawton, peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2025, surrounded by her family. Throughout her life, she donned several hats; she was a wife, mother, sister, and friend, but her most treasured role was being "Meme" to her grandkids and many others. Her happiest moments were spent fishing, watching her Chiefs, and serving others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Begley and Sophie Miller; her brothers, Vernon Cornett, Herb Cornett, Freddie Begley, Bill Begley; and her sister, Retha Stidham.

Dora is survived by her husband of 46 years, Berney Scharen; her children, David Ousley and wife Debbie, Thresa Seabolt and husband Greg, Robert Scharen, and her stepson, Allen Scharen and wife, Tammie; her grandchildren, Crystal Scharen (whom she lovingly raised from birth), Tim Franklin, Matthew and Rylee Seabolt, Devin and Scotlyn Ousley; her great-grandson, Wyatt Franklin; her sister, Ruth Box; her brother, Arlis Begley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

A Celebration of Life service will take place at First Baptist East in Lawton on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at Fort Sill National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
