Donna Cummins, 70, Elgin passed away Saturday August 15, 2020 in Lawton, OK. She was born August 29, 1949 in Snyder, OK to Olen and Macel Loretta (Hooper) Self. Donna worked in various jobs from the age of 15 and ended her work career at Crow Tire and Trailer Sales, where she worked for 17 years. She was a hard worker and instilled that work ethic into all of her children and grandchildren.
She married Glen Cummins of Lawton, OK on May 28, 1967. They have three children, one daughter and then a set of twins, a boy and girl. In 1988 they adopted their granddaughter and raised her as their own.
Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren, and going to her sister in law Helen's house to visit. She loved listening to Country, Gospel and Willie Nelson, yes Willie Nelson. She loved family reunions. When she was younger, she loved going camping and fishing, she was the camp cook, no one went hungry. She loved taking care of her loved ones, throughout the years she had taken care of several family members and loved ones at their time of the death because she felt it was her duty as a loved one so they were not alone, that's just how she was.
One thing she loved to do was read the Bible, her favorite Bible verse is II Peter 3:8-10 8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare., and John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Donna is survived by her husband of 53 years Glen Cummins, Elgin, OK, children Syndy & Chris Polsgrove of Comanche, OK, Stephanie & Jerrell Crow of Lawton, OK, Dale & Lisa Cummins of Springdale, AR and Darla & Joey Andrade of El Reno, OK.
