Donald E. "Don" Stevens passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 88. He was born on April 12, 1937, in Adrian, Michigan, to Meader E. and Helen G. (Boley) Stevens. Don spent most of his early years in Michigan, where he graduated from high school before pursuing higher education. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Don enjoyed a long and accomplished career as an engineer, working for several architectural firms over the years. In 1996, while working for United Airlines, he accepted a position which brought him to Oklahoma City-a move that would change his life in more ways than one. There, he met Gloria Ann, and the two were married on January 17, 1998. Don continued his career in Oklahoma City and retired from Frankfurt, Short, and Bruza.
Ever industrious, Don also tried his hand at "flipping" houses-buying, renovating, and selling them-though that particular venture was short-lived as he and Gloria wanted to enjoy more time traveling with friends and working on his 1960's Red Jeep.
He was a devoted member of Council Road Baptist Church, attending faithfully until the onset of COVID-19. Don also found great joy in volunteering as a docent at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, a role he truly loved and took great pride in.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Ann Stevens; three daughters from his marriage to Suzanne Slagle Stevens: Cindy (JD) Wilkins, Marianne Clone (Bob, deceased) and Barb (Jim) Hiss, grandchildren: Tyler (Savannah) Wilkins, Stephanie (Dan) Hood, Hannah (Jay) Parrack, Matt Hiss, Ben (Chelsey) Clone, Zach (Cherise) Hiss, and Sam (MacKenzie) Hiss; and six great-grandchildren, Carson, Owen, and Sutton Parrack, Marleigh and Baker Hiss, and Harvey Hood. Special nephew and niece, Jack and Ronda Norrell, together with their daughter, Kalyn Norrell (Hank Graham).
The family would like to thank the many caregivers who provided constant and loving care and support.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
A graveside service honoring his life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 21, 2025 in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
