Dirl was born on August 6, 1943, in Lawton, Oklahoma, and lived a life defined by hard work, deep family devotion, and a generous spirit. He attended Central High School and married Earline Howeth in 1960, beginning a journey that would be marked by perseverance, craftsmanship, and strong family values.

Throughout his life, Dirl worked as a skilled mechanic and construction worker, contributing to the building of homes and landmarks across Lawton and nearby communities. He also spent time as a coal miner in Colorado, never backing down from a challenge and always bringing determination and grit to every task.

A man of many trades and talents, Dirl owned 14 bars and numerous cars during his lifetime, reflecting his passion for machinery, entrepreneurship, and craftsmanship. He was the proud owner and operator of The Boat Barn, Harley's Night Club, and Mean Green in Elgin, Oklahoma. He had a particular love for Harley-Davidsons-both the motorcycles and their beloved dog, Harley.

In 1999, Dirl married Joyce Willey, and together they built a loving and welcoming home filled with warmth, laughter, and family. His love for his family was matched only by his dedication to community.

Dirl was a proud Mason with the Apache Lodge and the founder of the Porter Hill Cruzers in 2000. A mentor and a natural leader, he was the kind of man who led by example and inspired others through his actions and work ethic.

He leaves behind a large and loving family, including children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended relatives, and countless friends, all of whom cherished him deeply. Dirl's legacy of love, strength, and generosity will continue to live on in all who knew him.

Dirl was preceded in death by his parents, Dee Dirl Burruss and Sarah Hazel Stewart; maternal grandparents, John Franklin Phipps and Mary Magdeline Glass-Phipps; brother, Donald Burruss; son, Damon Wayne Burruss; and daughter, Tammie Chestnut.
