A funeral service for Dawson Hayes Mindemann will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Grace Fellowship Church, Lawton, with Pastor Josh Trueblood officiating.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Apache, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Dawson Hayes Mindemann was born September 24, 2026, in Oklahoma City and was welcomed into the arms of a family who had already loved him for a lifetime.
Though Dawson's time with his family was far shorter than anyone wanted, his life was filled with love from the very beginning. He was hoped for, prayed for, talked about, dreamed about, and loved throughout every day of his journey. His parents, Madyson and Harlan, treasured every moment they were given with their son, and his big sister, Parker, will always hold the special place of being Dawson's big sister.
Dawson was a beautiful little boy with the most beautiful dark hair, his daddy's features, and his big sister Parker's nose. His family was blessed with time with him after his birth, giving them the gift of holding their son, memorizing his sweet features, and loving him face-to-face. Shortly after his birth, Dawson was baptized and surrounded by the love of his family.
Dawson is lovingly remembered by his parents, Madyson and Harlan Mindemann, and his sister, Parker of Apache; his grandparents, Jason and Jina Mindemann of Apache and Brent and Jennifer Parmer of Apache; his great-grandfather, Robert Crews of Apache; and his great-grandparents, Mark and Cecile Mindemann of Apache, Jeff and Kathie Drake of Elgin, and Willie McCullough of Apache; and great-great grandmother, Christine Mindemann.
He is also loved and remembered by his uncles, Payton Mindemann, Marcus Mindemann, and Harmon Parmer of Apache; his uncle and aunt, Garrett and Kaitlyn Parmer, and son, Lincoln of Newcastle, OK; and many other family members and friends who loved Dawson before they ever had the chance to meet him.
Dawson was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Carol Crews; his great-grandparents, Clint and Betty Parmer; and his great-great grandfather, Alton Mindemann.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Abel Speaks, an organization that supports families carrying babies with life-limiting diagnoses and families experiencing infant loss.
Dawson's life may have been brief, but it was never small. He was a son, a baby brother, a grandson, a great-grandson, a nephew, and a cousin. Most of all, he was Dawson. His life changed his family forever, and though his time on earth was short, the love he gave and the love he inspired will last for generations. He was deeply loved, deeply wanted, and will forever be a part of his family's story. His family finds comfort knowing that he is now in the arms of the Lord, where they will one day see their precious boy again.
