Dawn Marie Nelson, beloved mother, wife, Nana and sister passed away at her home in Lawton on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Dawn, age 72, of Lawton, Oklahoma was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Richard and Patricia (Larson) Posely on February 2, 1951. After graduating high school, Dawn married her sweetheart, SFC (Retired) Richard Nelson on December 26, 1970. They had been married for 52 years. She was a stay-at-home mom of three boys until she decided to work for years in the day care system and Wal-Mart, finally retiring after working for over 25 years. Dawn continued to do what she loved, which was sewing, crafting, and taking care of her family. She truly had a gift.

Dawn was truly loved by many and will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, son, Anthony Nelson, and grandson, Kenneth Nelson.

Dawn is survived by her husband, two sons, Keith Nelson, Sr (wife Kelsey), Brent Nelson (wife Deon) and seven grandchildren.
