A celebration of life for David Allen Scruggs, 62, Lawton, will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in Central Baptist Church with Brother Lee Carter, Cameron Baptist Church, officiating. David was called home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 18. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. David was born October 5, 1950 in Yokohama, Japan to Howard and Alma (Smith) Scruggs. He married Teresa Heater on August 20, 1977 in Lawton. David was a graduate of Cameron University and was an avid golfer. He worked as a sales representative in the construction and concrete business. David was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was deeply loved by his family and friends. The family offers a special thank you to all caregivers and friends who have been so attentive with their visits, cards and prayers. He is survived by his wife, Teresa of the home; two sons, Chad A. Scruggs, Lone Grove, Oklahoma and Kyle D. Scruggs, Oklahoma City; a brother and his wife, Ronnie and Sue Scruggs, Wichita Falls; a sister and her husband, Debbie and Paul "JP" Nauman, Lawton; two sisters in law, Jimmie Scruggs, Lawton, and Gail and her husband Kurt Boetzle, Medford, Oregon; brother in law and his wife, David & Teresa Heater, Lawton; father in law and his wife Phillip and Jennie Heater, Elgin; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Alma Scruggs; a brother, Terry Scruggs; a brother in law, Patrick Heater; and a mother in law, Shirley Heater. Family will greet friends from 6-8 pm on Monday, May 20 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leah M.
