Danny "Dan" Morrison Mullins, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away March 31st, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, service, and deep love for his family.

Dan was born on January 22, 1946, in Welch, West Virginia, to James Mullins and Dealia Christian Addair. Raised with strong values and a resilient spirit, those early roots shaped the man so many would come to admire—steady, hardworking, and quietly generous.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 12 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant First Class. During his service, he was deployed to the Dominican Republic in 1965 and later to Vietnam from 1965–1966. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division, 173rd Airborne Brigade, 18th Airborne Corps—experiences that defined his discipline, strength, and lifelong sense of duty.

On October 24, 1985, Dan married Diane Brox Rulison. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and unwavering support for one another.

Dan spent his career in the automotive business, beginning in Midland, Texas, before settling in Lawton, Oklahoma in 1979. Over the years, he became a respected leader in the industry—serving as General Manager of Bruce Smith Oldsmobile, operating a Mazda dealership in Altus, and ultimately owning Dan Mullins Nissan for 21 years before retiring in 2019. His work ethic and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and customers alike.

Beyond his business success, Dan was deeply involved in his profession and community. He served 15 years as a Commissioner on the Motor Vehicle Commission, was a member and past chairman of the Oklahoma Auto Dealers Association, and spent three years as Oklahoma Director for the National Auto Dealers Association Board of Directors.

Outside of work, Dan enjoyed life in simple but meaningful ways. He loved playing the guitar, staying active with weight training, watching old black-and-white westerns, and listening to all kinds of music. He was also a member of Western Hills Christian Church, where his faith remained an important part of his life.

But more than anything, Dan cherished his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Mullins; his children, Chris Mullins (Beth), Scott Mullins (Ami), Jennifer Rulison Beasley (Steve), and Kimberly Rulison Winton (Eric); and his beloved grandchildren, Danny Mullins (Savannah), Montana Mullins (Hannah), Rylie Beasley Foster (Ethan), Brady Beasley, Chase Beasley, Grace Winton, Vivian Winton, Christian Black, and Max Black. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.

Dan is also survived by his siblings, Jenny Rocke, Jo Ann Gilbert (Keith), Judy Simmons (Ronnie), Jim Mullins, Violet Rice (Earl), Sandra Pegram, along with his in-laws Carolyn Newman, Steve and Katie Brox, and Julie Brox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Mullins and Dealia Christian Addair; his brothers-in-law, Ron Rocke, Ken Brox and Chris Newman; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lou and Joelle Brox; and his great-grandson Kane Mullins.

Dan will be remembered as a man who led by example-strong yet kind, disciplined yet warm, and always devoted to the people he loved most. His presence brought stability, his laughter brought comfort, and his legacy will live on through the family he treasured so deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children (www.shrinerschildrens.org), honoring Dan's generous spirit and care for others.
